Dear OLG Families,

I hope this note finds you well and that summer has been full of rest, sunshine, and good memories. I'm counting down the days until we're back together as a school community.

I'm so looking forward to my first year as principal, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be starting this new chapter with the guidance of Dr. Gena McGowan close at hand. Dr. McGowan poured her heart into this school for years, and the strong foundation, warmth, and sense of family she built here are things I don't take for granted. I'm grateful she'll be mentoring me as I step into this role, and I know OLG is stronger today because of her leadership.

This year, we're excited to bring some fresh energy and renewed facilities to OLG — while holding tightly to the traditions that make this school what it is.

A warm welcome to our new PTG presidents

Speaking of new energy, I want to give a big welcome to our new Parent Teacher Group Presidents, Jeff and Karla Boggess, who are stepping into this role with enthusiasm and heart. They're lucky to have Dawn Leo and Kristen Quintero, our transitioning PTG presidents, staying on to mentor them — thank you both for your years of dedication and for continuing to invest in our school's future.

A few things to have on your radar

  • Our new parent portal launches August 1st. Starting then, all school and volunteer sign-ups will move over to the portal, so keep an eye out for details on how to get set up.
  • We'll be celebrating with a school ribbon-cutting on August 9th, directly after 9 AM Mass. Join us for sweets, beverages, and a first look at the school.
  • We also hope to see you all at the parish picnic on August 16th — a great way to reconnect as a community before the school year kicks off.

Thank you for being with us. I can't wait for the year ahead. See you all on August 13th!

With gratitude,

Mr. Manifesto
