On April 18, 2024, 4th Grader Ziva Alvino and 8th Grader Yaretzy Garcia were respectively honored by the Castro Valley/Eden Area Chamber of Commerce as "Student Citizens of the Year" for OLG Elementary and Middle Schools. Principal McGowan and 8th Grade Teacher Mrs Hughes looked on with pride as Ziva and Yaretzy joined some very accomplished student citizens for area schools.
