The Second Graders at OLG school, along with several members of the parish Religious Education program, came to the Lord's table for the first time on Saturday, May 17 at 9:30 a.m.
The excitement was palpable as family, friends, catechists and their non-Catholic classmates joined together to express their love and support. Mrs. Claudia Dobbs led the beautiful music and their teacher, Mr. Manifesto, was on hand along with their principal, the parish Director of Religious Education and of course, their pastor, Father Raphael.
The children were reminded that Jesus made Himself available to all in the form of bread and wine during his last Passover meal. The next day would see Him suffer and die, but on the third day, He rose from the dead and is with us until we join Him and Our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Grace, in HEAVEN!
The joy and appreciation was noticeable and the alleluias rant loud. Several First Communicants participated in the readings and Prayers of the Faithful as well as were represented by a classmate and her mom during the presentation of gifts.
Blessings on each and every one of them and their families.
