Bright and early Friday morning, a few OLG students were spotted at Mañanitas to Our Lady of Guadalupe. After the songs and the recitation of the rosary, they joined the community for breakfast of "chocolate y pan dulce."
As their peers arrived, it was clear that this was a very special day. Bouquet after bouquet of roses were spotted, and many of the younger students were wearing the traditional "tilma," worn by San Juan Diego on the occasion of the various visitations by our Lady. Several little girls dressed as Our Lady of Guadalupe were also a part of the celebration.
The entire student body attended Mass and, led by Student Body President Nicco Williams, brought flowers to Our Lady of Grace's image. Following Mass, as a part of which three of our youngest in traditional dress brought up the gifts, the 8th graders stayed to decorate the shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
